has anyone taken the cover of the separator to clean the housing? do I need to buy a new gasket or use the old one? if new does dealer stock? do you use a rag or brake cleen to clean out?
I am due for filters but the dash lit up to drain and I did but nothing came out- light went off and came back a day later- drained again and a little came out-fuel-not water- light goes away for a bit then back on------- I think I need to replace filters and clean housing........
thanks guys.
I tried compressed air when I didn't get flow and no luck.......
this am it flowed but the light came on anyway- I think the housing is gooped leaving the sensor goofed...
dealer didn't have the gasket- didn't even know what I was talking about----
I replaced filters and wiped what I could and blew air into it with out filters on------- we shall see- I came up with a rubbery substance so it needs addressing
I'm just amazed that I hear this over and over. I just sent my buddy to the dealer to pick up the gasket kit and they had no clue as well. He put me on the phone with the parts guy and I told him HFCM cover gasket, then Fuel Water Separator Cover Gasket and he seemed to have figured it out. I know the parts people deal with a lot of people & vehicles, but damn....
