This link is about some of the latest auto tech, and why it might not be all that cool. For the most part I agree with what he says -- what do you guys think.
I tend to agree, mostly the stuff that is supposed to make them idiot proof and "green" that overrides or flat out removes operator input, makes a vehicle less reliable, capable, and more expensive.
I tend not to like driving modern cars. They way they are built, in particular the steering the driver is to disconnected from the vehicle.
People may want this stuff, but don't make it mandatory and make it drivers choice.
We are just getting lazy, I dont want to get out and lock my hubs, Im to busy texting I want my car to stop automaticly, I never learn how to park I want my car to park for me, ect, ect, ect. LAZY LAZY LAZY, then when the throttle sticks, brakes dont work, steering wheel just spins, we SUE WE SUE WE SUE. Why did ford discontinue the manual trans nobody knows how to drive one. This is what I don't agree with. If you are backing up, one shouldn't even be messing with the other functions. When I get in my vehicle and I back up, I check the camera for a second, to make sure nothing is behind me. I'll then turn around and back up. I don't like facing forward looking at the screen, while trying to back up.
