Got the cluster all wired up. Tested out the Volt Meter, Fuel Gauge, and general lighting. One of the LEDs for turn signal went out. So i ordered more. Just need to figure out how i am gonna connect it into the stock wiring, replace senders, and get it all going
The cluster is now finished. I need to install all my senders and put connectors on the truck wiring. Wish i could do it this weekend but im going out of town BLAH!

So with the electronic speedo, whats the deal on the other end? A universal encoder that you modify to the speedo gear on trans? Like to see a pic of that if you don't mind. Thanks.
Yeah, When i bought this setup i didnt know it was electronic. The Adapter is a Pulse Generator that plugs into the transmission to your speedo gear. Speedometer 8K Pulse Generator
This unit requires an 8k Pulse generator so i ordered the Ford Dakota Digital Unit
Well today was a great day! Had the day off from Vacation and went and scored a tailgate from the Local Pick n pull. $41 after i had to get a guy to let go of it. He was collecting tailgates to build a bench and wanted my wheel barrow. So i talked him out of it Nice guy and was happy to trade. He had 2 other tailgates already
So i have already used paint removing wheels on the front and wire wheeled the inside. Now the its covered in bed liner on the inside and drying
Thought about having a shop doing an AOD swap but after all the research it looks to be a bit pricey. So looks like I am going to just have a shop replace my throughout bearing and check the innards to make sure everything is OK. Kinda worries me because they might just want to do a rebuild regardless but we shall see. Ill probably go ahead and have them replace the jimmy rigged shifter as well since they will have the transmission out

Transmission work is always expensive. It cost me $1700 to have my 3sd auto rebuilt in my jeep. complete overhaul and has 3/36k warranty on it. But I sleep good at night knowing my tranny aint going out and those 4.0 I6 are pretty much indestructible. If I were you I would just save up for a good rebuild/swap
Well i have 1500 coming my way but i dont think anything is wrong with the trans. It shifts good even though it gets caught every now and again but i think thats the rods. The PO welded too rods together and bolted the shifter to the floor and its even on backwards. Everytime i press the clutch it makes a lot of noise so i figure if i just get the bearing replaced and the new shifter on i should be good. I mean hell i got 17MPG avg 60MPH on a 10 hour trip back from Springfield MO when i bought her. So ill prob just do that and spend the rest of fixing other parts

A manual transmission overhaul is much cheaper than an auto rebuild. I think my dad only paid 750 for a complete overhaul on his. Before it went out we tried to replace the small things first and it worked out for about a month. A worn out transmission is such a headache to me that I would rebuild it just so you don't have to worry about it in the back of your head like I did forever.
If they check it out and say it should be done ill probably go with it. Hopefully they can...Im going to take it to Mr Transmission which has got rave reviews and is close to home
well its definitely dinged and not smooth but i put some primer and paint on it. I wanted to test the color out and with so many dings and such i just said screw it. The tailgate is a tailgate and its a truck. May fix it down the road but ill prob put it on in a few days and just kinda see how i like the color.
The Blue wasnt working for me so i turned around and coated it with this satin colonial red. I ordered T-Nuts, New Screws, and a gasket for the handle and it all showed up yesterday. So I went ahead and installed the gate on the truck. You can see all the dents now lol.. Still better then the holey gate i had
That's a pretty close match from here. Could probably flatten it some more with a worn out scothbrite pad. Or shine the other paint up some. I missed it... why the blue originally?
