Seriously, even took the shop a few days to find it. With the trucked parked nothing looked off or wrong because the part would just settle back into place. Now im not 100% what this part is, but the guy at the shop told me i didnt need it. They wanted to pull the shaft and the yoke to remove it. But with a welding/ metal fab background. My first thought was to just cutt it off if i "dont really need it".
The owner warned me it was going to take me hours and atleast 10 wheels to get through it. I didnt listen, figured he would tell me anything to get me to leave it behind for some hours of labor.
Half hour and 2 cutting wheels later it was off. Bye bye obnoxious sound!
That piece is a harmonic balancer. If you notice any vibration, that may be the cause. Glad you found the problem. That's one I never heard of!
I have not noticed any issues, city or freeway... Im going to call it case closed for now. Thanks for the reply, i figured it was something like that but didnt know.. Never knew they put those anywhere els but under the hood. But i guess rotation is rotation.
