I'll be picking up a '92 F150 Custom later this week. It's a base model that didn't even come with air conditioning. That's not the end of the world since this will primarily be a work truck for me, but I'm curious... Can A/C be added? It's got the 300 six cylinder with a 5-speed. I know A/C was available with that engine, so maybe it just bolts up?
Thank you to anyone who can give me information or just tell me to forget about it! Lol!!
You can add it bolt in style yea and best bet would probably be buying a parts truck to get what you need from it, while not a terrible job quick and easy it wouldn't be.
You need the dash control and the HVAC Blower Motor Housing under the hood swapped with everything on it. The engine compartment housing is different w or wo air conditioning, naturally doesn't have a A/C evaporator core inside it or room for one without air.
Then all the other parts the lines, the condenser in front of the radiator, the compressor etc.
Yea parts truck and one with working air conditioning would be the best bet!
find a truck already with ac if you want it.it will be cheaper and easier.these trucks are everywhere still.you can find exactly what you want with retaliative ease.
