What pids do I want to watch while starting my trucks. AE in hand, but not an expert by no means. Some symptoms that I have, cranks fine but slow to start.
How about some numbers with that list to watch. I can watch numbers all day, but not have a clue at to what they mean. I'm new to the live data game, but IIRC duty cycle should be 14% by default, then climb as engine fires up, but not get higher than 50% at WOT, RPM should be around 170 cranking to build enough oil pressure to fire injectors, and please correct me quickly if I am wrong. I have no idea what FIPW should be, but if your voltage drops below 10.7vdc while cranking, your injectors will not fire.
Minimums required for starting:
100 RPM
500 PSI ICP
7.5 volts to PCM (IDM probably needs 10+ volts)
Injector pulsewidth rises to 1.0 - 6.0 ms when all other parameters are above minimums

More specifically....watch Injector Pulse Width. It will show 0.6 ms when the PCM and IDM are in sync.....usually happens after the first full rotation. Then the PCM will wait until some other conditions are met (first part of the list above) and then increase PW to fire the injectors. If PW remains at 0.6 ms, then the PCM is NOT firing the injectors.
