Step one, is it IDI or PS, could be either in 94? Next step, what transmission is behind the 7.3? Step three, search, this has been done a few times, and I know there are a few build threads on it, if I come across one I'll post it up for ya.

engine swap
This regards an engine swap of a 400 ci to a 7.3 turbo in a 1977 Ford F350 2wd.
The engine I have is a 1994 7.3 turbo power stroke?. I plan to use either a C-6 or E4OD as I have both.
One of my problems seems to be the amount of electronic controls on the engine that are, it appears only to be found on a donor vehicle ie. trans, shift and injection system. The engine has no wiring harnesses on it.
I also have an older 1985 6.9 IDI that can be swapped as the only wiring needed for the diesel is connected to the injection pump.

I think the only transmission in the 94 psd was a manual.
The psd requires a lot of wiring to be swapped. There's two computers basically, special throttle pedal, and few other things.
You say you have a 7.3 powerstroke... With a question mark.
Is it an idi like your 6.9, or is it an electronic diesel with direct injection.

The c6 from the 6.9 may work, but the c6 from the 400 won't bolt up. The e4od is all electronic and will require a harness and computer from a newer automatic truck.
