Motor swap

Thinking of putting a smaller engine in my 71 F100. How hard to swap a 302 and trans in for my 360. Just new mounts and drive shaft or not easy at all. Lots of rotted out trucks with good motors here in NY.

Not hard as long as there is a complete donor you can get the engine, trans, and EVERYTHING around it. From motor mount stands to the driveshaft.

If your gonna swap, I'd swap to a newer 5.0/AOD combo from late 80s/early 90s.

Is that an easy swap? I'm assuming just get a new intake and carb and get rid of all the fancy electric stuff.

A early 90s 302 or 351W AOD would be the simplest economy swap. After saying that I would look at a much newer EFI engine/tranny set if you have the coins.

Nope. No extra coin. This will be a little by little project as I run my 360 til it won't go anymore. The 302s are a dime a dozen in NY. The carb and intake will probably cost more than a good motor and trans will :/

There isn't much electric on those engines. It's still all mechanical fir the most part. The EFI is the benefit. Swapping to a carb would defeat the purpose IMO
