I used to have a 2002 F350 V-10 Ford truck 2 wheel drive which was totaled in a wreck but I kept the wheels and tires from it because I had new tires installed on it couple of month before the truck was totaled. The wheel and tires that was on the V-10 were LT265 75 R16 Load E which I took off and kept before they junked the truck.
I recently purchased a 2007 F350 6.0L 4 wheel drive truck since I got it for a good price. The tire on ii are LT275 70 R18 Load E. When I purchased the truck, it didn't have a spare tire and I pointed it out to the dealer so the dealer quickly looked around in his lot and pulled a spare from another F350 and threw it in the truck. The spare tire is LT265 75 R16 Load E
My question is since I didn't really checked the spare actual size when I buy the truck, will it hurt the 6.0L if I had to use the LT265 75 R16 as a spare if I had a flat tire?
Second question is there any pro or con if I went ahead and swap all wheels/tires on the 6.0L LT275 70 R18 with the wheels/tires from the wrecked truck which are LT265 75 R16.
When I put the LT265 75 R16 next to the LT275 70 R18 I know R18 is a bigger wheel but the tires look both same size on the outer circular to me.
Not specifically R18, i have aftermarket R17s that have alot of clearance. Stock R18 steel will work too, and be cheaper. Rim should be R(xx)/ 8x170mm
Thank you
i am going to try some local junkyard to see if I can find one steel stock R18 rim and hopefully it won't be too expensive since it something that may never get used.
