What is this thing?
As per Ken's request/challenge from the General Conversation forum, I'm in the process of writing a "how-to" article. But I've run upon a minor snag. I need to reference a particular component and don't know what the real name of this component is. I'd rather not refer to it as the "do-hickey" and heaven forbid I call it by a wrong name in a place like this. I searched through both a Haynes and Chilton's manual and couldn't find any reference to it. On my 93 F-150 w/5.0, it's a round canister like device that sits directly behind the battery on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It has a 1" hose that runs to the emissions air pump. If you take a look at my gallery, I've put a picture of it there if that helps any. Does anybody know what the proper nomenclature of this device is? I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.
