E40D shifting adjustments
i know there are many threads talking about E40D shifting problems. i already went trought lots reading..
just got my 93 f250 back from ford. after trying to adjust the FIPL sensor with a voltometer i decided to take it into a shop to get it done properly.
The mechanic used the start tester to adjust the sensor. just checked the voltage.. he set it up to 1.4 /4 wot.
still having the same problem as before. can make it uphill on the highway with the od on. even at more than 2000 rpm it shifts into 4th.
just got the tranny rebuild. i'v replace the wires to the tranny and the throttle position sensor connector.
using the code reader i get code 67. ac is off and od light is turned off during the test.
have no idea what it could be.
any help is very much appreciated.
did you inspect and clean the connector located on the drivers side by the shift linkage? did you search how to test the MLPS and did you do that yet?
you should reset the FIPL/TPS.1.4v idle is too high.the trans will shift real late and harsh.
it looks a bit dirty.
how do you identify pin 199 and 359 for testing?
could this faulty sensor effect my shifting?
thanks
have another couple of questions:
- when checking the pins you insert the leads of the volt meter from the top (with the sensor connected) or from the bottom of the connector?
- what volt meter set up i have to use? ohm 2000? it's the only one that gives me values close to the ones in the chart. in N i get 1603 not 660/807 could it be possible?
