Throttle Position Sensor
Someone told me my shift problem(hard or abrupt shift from first to second) could be caused by a bad TPS unit.. Any thoughts? How could I go about checking this and or fixing it.. My manual is a little vague about troubleshooting it.

usually the MLPS makes the e4od trans shift hard.does it do it all of the time? if not then when it does do it place the shifter in neutrol then back into gear. if this stops the hard shift for a while i say it needs a new MLPS. actually the computor controls the shifts not the MLPS. all the MLPS does is tell the computor what gear you have the lever in. the computor then takes this info and combines it with the info it recieves from the TPS which is how it tells the trans to shift.
repair the hard shift problem as soon as possible because this will blow your trans. a MLPS is about 75$ and i think you dont even have to change the harness to use the upgraded switch.

It normally shifts hard after its been warmed up and does it 70% of the time. Is an MLPS the same as a Trans Range Switch cuz if so then mine's been recently replaced with no impact...
