So I thought I would tackle the fuel smell/sending unit first but the emergency brake does not seem to be working so trying to figure that out as I have s lightly sloped driveway. Got it in a park with wood blocks behind all wheels but would like a functioning emergency brake.
I've never owned or driven anything with the handle emergency brake so first question is how hard should you have to pull these things? I have to plant my feet outside the cab and pull pretty hard to get it to move about 3 inches. And while it moves that far, I am pretty sure the the lever underneath is not moving that far. After using some PB blaster on the lever and the housing, it now comes out far enough to make two very soft clicks but then slides back a bit. How far out should it come?
Cable between handle and lever seems kind of loose. How tight should it be? The ones from the equalizer back are pretty darn tight.
I am assuming they are the orignal cables and I sprayed some PB blaster on the openings into the housings but didn't have a huge affect. It did help some though.
