I was going down the motorway this morning, and I tried to pass some jerk... but when i got up to about 92 the truck started stuttering. Does it have a speed control on it there (this is my guess), or is it something else? If it is in fact a speed control, how do I disable it? If you're not going at least 85 in the UK, you're just in the way.
From what I understand they all have a speed/rev limiter. You can't "disable" it. Some have reported that the addition of a super chip has raised the speed limiter. Aparently you have to ask about this when you order the chip so they can "custom" burn it for you. Others say they asked about it and the chips still didn't raise the speed limiter. It's a crap shoot.
Also, if you vehicle is still under warranty, Ford has started placing a disclaimer in the owners manuals about chips and other modifications that they say will void the warranty.
Before anyone anyone jumps on the "they can't do that" bandwagon, I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just stating what's in my owners manual. You decide for yourself if you want to take the chance and take up the fight with Ford.
