I just put headers put on my '97 4.6L F-150. As soon as I started it up, whenever I accelerate there is a clicking sound. Does this come with the headers or is there a problem? And how do I eliminate this clicking? It is like a tap or click that goes faster the more I accelerate. Can any one give me some advice?
that sounds like it's probably an exhaust leak near one of the exhaust ports. Try retightening your header bolts, and if that doesn't help, maybe a better quality header gasket.
hi , i got some shorty headers from summit and after i payed someone to enstall them i kept getting the same clicking sound which was more noticeable with the windows shut it seemed to be comming from arround the floor area of passangers side untill i had to pay again to get someone to check with a stethescope but there was 2 much engine noise to find anything so we took the headers of and found that where the pipes all collected the welds were not welded right. took me 3 months to get my refund.

WELL GUY I THINK IT HAS ALOT TO DO WITH HOW MUCH WE ARE SO LETTING MECHINES DO EVERYTHING AND IT SOMETIMES ISN'T AS GOOD AS MAN WORK. BUT IF YOU GET ON THEY'RE *** ABOUT IT AND GET THEM TO SEND YOU ANOTHER SET AND DON'T AGREE TO THEM CHARGING IT . HAVE THEM SEND IT THEN CHECK THEM , THEN SEND THEM THE FU--ED UP ONES.
IT SUCKS DOG!
