Have an issue with my truck. 1997 F350 4x4 CCLB. Symptoms are a strange rubbing type feeling in what feels like the front drivers side. I would say it feels similar to a tire tread rubbing on a bumper.
It only does it after I've driven the truck around town for a while or down the interstate. In other words, after the truck is good and warmed up. It's only noticeable at slow/idling speeds, or when pulling away from a curb. Mostly only notice when turning. It doesn't matter if I turn the wheel all the way, or only a quarter of the way. It does it in forward and reverse.
U-joints on the front axle are brand new. The shop said all bearings looked good when they did the u-joints and they repacked them all.
The truck has auto hubs. Front drive line is not spinning while driving in 2 wheel drive so I don't believe I have a transfer case problem, but I really don't know.
Could it be brake calipers?
could it be the rear end? I'm assuming it's a LS
Any insight you guys might have would be good.
Like I said, it only seems to be in the front end.
Subscribed. My truck is also doing this and it's driving me crazy. I've replaced u joints. Axle seals. Calipers. Brake pads. Tie rods. And more.
My truck has manual hubs though.
