I just picked up this 1967 Ranger. Needs an engine, but it's a no rust original paint truck. Has the beginnings of a very cool patina. Any ideas on the engine I should use?
It has a 67 hood badge on it, but it has a 1970 grille. Post the VIN number and get clarification on year.
It also has door locks, 67 did not have push down door lock *****. (visible through window)

I have the title. I'll go get vin and title info. Good info so far.
F10ACB15092 F10 = F100 A = 240 CID C = ONTARIO CANADA B15092 = APRIL 1967 I could be wrong but this is what I come up with.
That's what I came up with too. Turns out, the RH door is 67. Looks like the LH door is 68? How did I miss that. That blows. Because the door has been there so long that it has patina'd the same. I guess I'll shop for a door and see what happens.
looks like the grill and drivers door have been swapped out. The cab has 67 heater controls and title is for 67. The cluster looks different from a 67. might check the wiring to see how bad it has been hacked up.
X2 what Gembone says.
Can you get a good picture of that radio? Not sure what that is.
Definitely do some investigating. Especially the wiring.
Post a picture of the lower rock guard where the turn signals are mounted.
While the grilles are interchangeable, the lower valance or rock guard should be swapped with the correct grille.
You can put a 67-69 grille on a 70-72 truck, the lower valance/rock guard will accept the grille leaving a larger indented area below grille. Not real noticeable unless you know what to look for.
Now, putting a 70-72 grille on a 67-69 requires the lower valance to be replaced. Reason being the indented area for the turn signal housings are smaller and the turn signal housings will not look right. Don't get me wrong it can be done it just looks like crap.
Picture please.
I'd say the dash is all '67, typical heater controls. The radio is likely stock/original. The ***** looks the same design as the heater controls.
'67 RH door, looks like someone replaced the LH door somewhere in an early time.
I'm a diehard FE guy, but for a daily runner, I'd put a 302/T5 in it. You can put a 4.10/4.30 gear in the back for some pep and then have OD to cruise the highway.
