97 7.3 f350 CCLB. Around 40 mph & 65-70 mph my truck vibrates. Acts like tires are out of balance. I don't know what it is. But If I set something on the dash when it happens it rocks (like sunglasses ) or something.
What I've already tried.
-re balancing tires (brand new toyo mt 385/75-16s with 2000 miles on them )
My 35 toyo MTS never did this. Or I didn't notice that it did.
-new carrier bearing
-shimmed carrier bearing 3/4" (helped quite a bit with vibration from take off and turning Corners from a stop. (Didn't help going down the highway. )
I'm not sure what else to do. My wheel bearings have both been replaced within the last 3000 miles also.
Hard to say, given that it started with new tires and is speed related I think it's safe to say it's tire related. I'd try changing your tire pressure to see if it changes the vibration.
I'm running them at 40 psi. I should try 35. Also I had heavy duty u joints installed 2 k miles ago. And since then when cornering I get a sound familiar to the sound of a bad wheel bearing. Is it just the new u joints ? Could be tire road noise. But like you said i try a different pressure
