Dually tire question

I have a 2014 f350 drw and I am going to lift it. I am curious what other people are doing for tires and wheels for dually's. I want to stay with 17's, don't really like the look of 20's and I want to go with 35x12.50 tires. I have a 42ft fifth wheel that I tow with as well so I am curious if anyone else has put 35x12.50 tires on the stock wheels and if so have you had any problems with it and do you tow with it. When my trailer is all loaded it'll probably be close to 18,000lbs.

Im not too familiar with the dually stuff, but I don't think you can do it, at the very least you will need to add a set of wheel spacers in the rear as they will be too wide to fit.

Again I could be wrong

I'm sorry I should have mentioned that. I know I will need to get some spacers for the rear. My main concern is putting a 12.5" wide tire on 6.5" wide wheel. I have seen that there are a lot of people that do it, I'm just wondering if they are towing with it and have experienced any kind of problems.

your going to want a wider rim as well.. then youll run into a whole different issue with it extending far outside the wheel well.. standard dually width most roads give you about 6" each side to play with... when you get onto narrow roads youll pretty much over run the lines. keep in mind as well the rims themselfs will have to have different offsets just to prevent rubbing under the well. imo i wouldnt do it.. it is doable on a 6.5" rim but you run into quiet a few other issues with them. If you search other forums they recommend no narrower than an 8" wide rim.

This is a question from someone who knows a little about the lifting industry, and now that I'm far removed from it can take a more objective look at it when I see this type of thread. What is your specific reason for needing the lift. From back in the late 70s/Big Foot era to today most who want a lift is for the Hey Look At Me thing. Although I know if that's the reason, changing your mind could be difficult but don't do it. However if there is a functional reason then give it now and the responses may be of more value.

There is no reason other than I like the look of it. I'm not doing anything crazy, just 4". The stock truck is just to low for me. I'm gonna add airbags as well to the rear of the truck to help with towing. I only tow with it once a month if that.

Then know that although the changes will be made on the sprung side and won't effect unsprung functions there will be issues however small...now your next response will be, "like what?"...I would suggest you doing your do diligence, as in go to a professional shop and learn.
