I see the ultimate super duty thread payed off and maybe this is played out but how about a thread where you show pictures of you favorite mod.
My favorite mod has to be my new tool box. I cant wait to get an on board air system in there as well as some tools, bubba rope and anything else that willl help me on the trail. Im going for a build that is like a recovory vehicle or the guy on the trail who has all the stuff to help you get home.
Surprisingly (to me) I've added several nerf bars/running boards over the years and other than allowing me to better reach the roof racks none of them did much - short of generally getting in the way. But I find they are of Big Help in mounting/dismounting my F250.
Also getting rid of the generic radio and returning to an OEM one - with large easy to see/use buttons.
I got some steps on mine to and i like them on some days and then others when i get high centered by them i hate them. My girl friend comes in at 4'11'' so she hates the idea of taking them off but i am 6'2'' so i have no problem stepping in without them even on 35's
remote start would be cool for the winter but i got a 5 speed and my parking break doesnt work so thats not at option even if they do make them for 5 speeds. since the clutch has to be engaged to starts

The systems for manual transmission require you to follow a certain procedure when shutting the truck down. Basically the truck must be running, you open the door, exit the truck, close the door and then shut it off with the remote control. If the door opens again you have to repeat the procedure. This ensures the truck is in neutral when it is shut off and that the shifter doesn't move into gear.

I have the same toolbox. Do you have any issues with water getting in? I keep a sheet of plywood fit to the bottom for extra protection and support and notice the driver side gets wet after it rains.

It does make the truck look extra good though.
thanks! and actually i got it about a week ago and it hasnt rained yet. But i did notice that when i latch it that there is play in the lid. which made me think that it wont seal tight letting rain it. i was thinking of maybe looking for some kind of weather stripping and doubling it up and also ive got some diamond plate and i was thinking of cutting some for the bottom as it seems pretty weak.
It has the foam strip around the lid, but who knows how well that actually works. During the winter I noticed some snow on the top stuff, so it's probably just a bad seal. There is play in the lid for me too. In the winter though, the latch gets stiff and doesn't latch properly. I've had to pull over several times on the highway to close the lid. But once I got it latched and locked, it was good.
About 16 years ago I purchased a Rubbermaid toolbox for my new 98 F150. Shortly after that I went with a full cab cover and the toolbox came off. It sat outdoors, alongside my garage for 15 years, and never leaked; but in telling the full truth it was full of spider webs and dead bugs (and a long lost ice-scrapper).
Last summer I reinstalled it on my F250. It still remains dry - it doesn't depend on a foam gasket, just a large overlapping area. Glad I didn't sell it off.
Wow sounds like a good box. Its kind of sad that to buy the "cheaper" of the tool boxes i had to spend a little over $300. I think the main problem with the tractor supply boxes is that the lid doesnt seal tight. Sure there is a gasket there but if the lid isnt held tightly up against it what is the point.
I have the same tool box as well. I got it at tractor supply years ago for dirt cheap and it has been one tough SOB. No problems with rain or snow getting in. I sit and stand on it all the time and I'm always banging things into it when loading crap lol
