Detroit true-trac in the front and detroit locker in the back, best mod, best money spent, take away all the go fast goodies, thats why you have low range. That true-trac and the weight of that powerstroke, unexplainable, when we go to VT. we have a long drive steep over a mile, coming off a dirt road that is maintained. When we wanted to go up in the winter I would have to pay a guy to bulldoze my driveway, well no more. one time I tried it with just one hub locked, it still pulled me and my trailer up that drive and didn't look back.
3/4ton4X4 and bthr22: I have the same tool box as well. I got it at tractor supply years ago for dirt cheap and it has been one tough SOB. No problems with rain or snow getting in. I sit and stand on it all the time and I'm always banging things into it when loading crap lol
They may have used heavier material back then. I'm afraid to stand on it. Just pushing down on the lid I can see the steel flexing a bit.

yeah definitly i dont think a kid could stand on it without it caving in. Damn stuff has gotten cheap. Its a shame i have to go through and do a bunch of weather proofing and reinforcing and the old one is fine how it comes.

This is definitly one of my most wanted mods. I do alot of wheelin in my truck and anytime i get stuck weather it be 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive 1 tire in the front is buried and 1 in the back is buried. The other 2 just being useless. Are the lockers you have air actuated or electric? Think you could give me a little review on them and how they work? i get how lockers work im just curious about the specific ones you have. Thanks in advance.

very possible. when I was at silver lake sand dunes over the weekend, my cousin and I were standing on the tool box taking pictures... it gives a little but not bad, it's pretty strong.

yesterday my little sister stood on mine. She weighs 90lbs. Not only did i watch the lid bow i watched the hole box sag in the middle. Im am very happy with the fact that i finnaly have a tool box but pretty dissapointed with the construction of the box.
I want to do the dash swap also but i got a 5 speed and i don't think there's room. Anybody got any info on that?
Fairly sure there is a smaller F650 dash that was meant to go along with the manual F650's. Friend put it in his 04 SD, it's still got space for a full row of switches and a few gauges.
Also check out the 05+ lower dash. Fitment and color is close, can add upfitter switches to it and includes a larger glove box thing. I know xmonte did it to his maybe some others on here as well.
Giving the thread a bump with another one of my favorite mods, My tires. Bought them brand new about 5,000 miles ago and im still happy. Yeah they have worn already but they are very agressive and they have gotten me alot of places. They dont trench much in the sand and clean out awsome in the mud. If you want to read a full review look for my post in the super duty and offroad section.
I think it's all the mods I've made that make it what it is, the fact that it doesn't look
like every other truck going down the road is what I'm most proud of.
