Today while I was driving I started to notice a screeching around 2500 rpms, and it progressively got worse until I was able to limp home. Upon a very quick inspection I noticed the alternator (converted from generator on a 223) was shaking all over the place. The PO installed it and used a pretty sketchy homemade lower bracket that had snapped.
I know this has been talked about, and I've seen some other homemade brackets, but the problem is I don't have a welder, aka no experience with metal fab.
Has anyone used any other brackets to mount theirs? Or made one without welding? any input or guidance is greatly appreciated. I've attached a photo of my broken one.
