2007 FREESTAR
Hi gang!
Hope this is the right place to ask for help with my son's van.
I know less than nothing about the FREESTAR, or front wheel drive for that matter.
The van started making a strange noise a couple of weeks ago, but because of a serious lack of funds, he had to ignore the noise until I could get a look at it.
The problem: Thought it was something as simple as a caliper sticking or a wheel bearing shot until I jacked it up. When partially turning either front wheel back and forth, a sound akin to dropping marbles into a cake pan comes from the (presumed) transmission pan.
The car handles ok, but vibrates enough to shake the contents of the van, and can be felt through the floor.
PLEASE offer any insight you have to this problem, and a possible economical solution, as my son is broke and I can't help him.
