I wan tot get new body mounts for my build, keep it rubber to keep NVH down in the cab. Cannot find on rock auto and dealer wants wayyy too much. Where else cna I get them?
Also I need the two rubber rad core supports for the front.
so i called energy suspension, anbd theyre telling me ther eis no metal inside the bushing..
how does one screw the bolt into the bushing?!
I dont have any factory hardware or factory body mounts. I have a bare frqame.
Doesnt the stock rubber have a metal sleeve cast into it which is threaded, into which you thread the cab bolt into?
Having nothing but bare frame, they offer the complete mount setup you're gonna need.
You can however order the poly bushing kit page 21 then the hardware you'll need to use with it from page 22, if you'd rather have the poly bushings instead of rubber for example.
The body bolt screws into #15 front of cab and #22 rear of cab in the diagram shown page 22.
wondering if the bolts and such will be the same as for an 06?
sorry im all over the place with the years.
I have an 06 frame which my 91 body is going on to.
I actually do have 4 OEm body mounts lkaying here off an 05 truck so i can use the sleeves from there, just need the bolts. not sure if its metric or not. But LMK doesnt list anything for body bolts in their catalog which is considereably harder to use than for OBS.
ah *** it, ima just make my own retainers. Screw spending 20 bucks a pop for something like this.
I've lost track if this is for an OBS or SD, but I have changed my OBS crew cab to black poly from Energy Suspension.
Do some research and have a plan to pull the old ones apart. Impact (hammers, etc) won't do it. You'll need to fab a puller. And when you have the two metal pieces apart cut at least one of the bulged ends off so you never have to fight them apart again.
Have new front (radiator support) bolts lined up (if not already in hand, you can return them if not needed) as they will most likely either be corroded and snap in half or you will have to cut them. Also have two or three long extensions for your socket on the top side with a backer wrench on the under side and this is a one person job.
And though Brad says I'm hearing things, I did initially hear a new type of sound. But when I priced rubber replacements at about 4 sawbucks I couldn't hear the sound anymore.
