So many great looking trucks on this thread.

Before I brought the Candy Cane. Love to find that camper shell again.

Just two months before I brought my truck. This was the photo that caught my eye (And my wallet) on Craigs List.

Got her home, did a few things like stop the leaks and fix vibration problems.

And now today.

I really did luck out that I had a great truck to start with, no rust and pretty well cared for by both former owners.

Bought from Craigslist for $700. Was flooded in Hurricane Isabel about 3-4 feet of water. Owner then sold it too a friend and it came to VA from MD. Sat for years. I got it, dropped in a 460/c6 from motorhome with low mileage.

Still work on it here and there but it's a running, driving, tagged truck. Next on list is AC, conversion to overdrive. Another member here sold me a complete AC setup, yet another member sold me a low mileage E4OD and I bought a standalone controller, deep pan, and trans temp gauge.

Very, very nice Blair. I'm wondering if the axle was maybe narrowed a bit? Tires don't see to stick out that far in the back.

QUESTION: What did you do with the flexible fresh air tubes on the air cleaner?
I tossed the chrome pie-plate air cleaner and replaced it with stock parts.
I have the upper fiberglass duct. Need the lower one too.

Does anyone have the short flexible air cleaner duct and the lower/ long duct to
the radiator support? They were made in 2 sizes. I need the small size.

This thread is Before...when it was showing trucks, what you started with and your result, and After...where it trails off into parts searching blather. Lol!

This is the state the motor was in when I bought my truck. Stood for 6 years. PO filled the carb with some fresh fuel and it started right up

I then gave it a good service and tidied up some bit. Currently still in the truck and enjoying it everyday!

Here's my '78 before and after restoration. I'm not a big fan of flat beds so that was the first thing to go

wow, what a trip down memory lane looking through old pictures.

Bought this pile of parts about 5 years ago. The guy had stopped after down the chassis and garaged all the parts for ten years.

Bottom of cab was painted but peeling. Sheet metal was from Georgia so was very solid.

Great starting place but still a ton of work. Can't image starting the way some of you guys have.

The day it went out for paint.

Today.
