"How I bought it. Been sitting on blocks for 10 years"
Way to go Jameson
Hahaha thanks! I was really surprised, just took a little bit of starting fluid and a can of seafoam in the gas. Everything was solid, had compression, good oil, no coolant leaks, clutch was good, trans shifted just fine. Brakes were a bit sticky, but un-froze on the drive home.
What did you do to that engine? Now it's just another street rod.
Where's the a.c. compressor? Only red-necks sweat. If it's hidden, your not
a red neck.
My 75 had chrome valve covers and and a pie plate air cleaner.
That stuff vanished.
Guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Haven't seen your truck yet.
Marc, not that I want to bring up a sore subject. But what's with the engine? Did you ever figure your problem since the first rebuild?
Not sore at all.
It was a Felpro gasket failure.
As you know my brother is a gasket maker.
We designed a new head gasket and I'm just waiting for it to be finished.
New tooling, new coating, new layout.
It's a nice deal.
I'll write it up when I get it.
Sorry for the attitude. It seems that everyone wants an engine of chrome,
wide tires on spoked rims. Us stock guys are in the minority.
What's the fire truck like? Who built it. What are the specks? Is it ready
to respond? I owned a real one for 11 years. It was a 55 Peter Pirsch built for
the Waukesha Fire Dept. Open cab, Waukesha gas 6 of 779 cid, Spicer 5-speed, Ross cam & roller steering, Hale 1,000 rpm pump, 500 gallon
booster tank. It was equipped as it was in service. it was front line for
20 years and best reserve for 15 more.
Email me pictures of your rig at jrtljt031648@att.net I'll return pics of our
75 F-150 and the Pirsch.
I'm actually with you on that, but they worked for the time being.
It's got a Dana 80 floater in the rear. Those are the only style caps I could find that are the same in two different sizes.
When I get time I'm gonna switch the 80 out and put a lighter duty deal in.
And find some real dog dishes.
My fridge is always full of beer if you make it out here.
As for my collection, I'm in full flight on two of them right now building engines.
Kids are all grown so I'm livin' the dream.
Nice mark, even before on the f 100 looks great!California Dreamin Slow is smooth, smooth is fast...
