Dash Speaker Grille

So I've been looking for information regarding the dash speaker cover. My '75 regular cab non-ac truck has the grill integrated into the metal dash.

On my crew cab project, There is a rectangular hole. I'm pretty sure the cab is a '76 AC cab. Anybody with this setup have pictures of how the speaker and grill mounts? a part number would be great as well.

I've been looking through e-bay and junkyards off and on for a few months with no luck. I don't really plan on putting a speaker in the dash, but at a minimum I'd like to find the cover / grille so I don't have a big hole in the dash.

Here is what my dash looks like:

Do you mean that the grill and dash are one piece? I've never seen that. I've only seen dash with separate grill.
I have a '75 fact A/C and a '73 non-A/C and neither have an integrated grill.
The grill is the same whether you have an AM radio or not.
I'll look up the grill part number for you.

Huh, I'll correct myself. The non-A/C cabs do have an integral speaker. Weird, my '73 doesn't but the parts catalog shows it as such.

You could cut a piece of cardboard or wood to fit, and take it into a machine shop and have them cut you some aluminum sheet to match, maybe even get fancy and get something engraved in it before you screw it in.

My 74 is all one piece. The speaker grill is part of the dash.

I learned something today. I went back and started looking through the pictures of the Pumpkin's original cab, that one was non-A/C. I didn't find any good pictures from overhead but did find one with the cab on it's side. Through the transmission tunnel you can clearly see the one piece speaker grill.
Strange because my other 73's dash is also non-A/C but it's got the separate grill.

mikeo0o0o0,

Thanks for the illustration and parts number, that was very helpful. I've already left a message regarding the part, hopefully he actually still has it.

I also feel better about being confused regarding the grille. When I was at the junkyard over the weekend they had both a factory AC and non-ac, both had the integrated grille. I was expecting the AC cab to have the separate cover but it didn't. It seems that there is some inconsistency from Ford regarding the dash.

I started wondering if I had some custom deal from a previous owner. Now that I see the illustration at least I know the part exists and what it looks like.

Robertcoupe, thanks for the suggestion. If I can't obtain a factory part by the time my truck is done I might just fabricate something up, even if it is only for temporary use.

I have never seen a removable grill. I would suggest a dash mat until you find a grill. Helps with windshield glare anyway.

My 76 SC with AC has the removable speaker Grill... I played hell trying to find a speaker to fit it before I just gave up on the Idea and made my console.
