Last July I had to replace the HPOP and this July I had replace that one. This time I had them also replace the stand pipes and dummy plugs. Is this normal to go through HPOPs so quick. The tech told me the last one was installed improperly. He sis whoever did it used silicone sealant on the O ring and it didn't hold. Not being that versed on diesels I'm trying to figure out if I've got the problem fixed or do these things blow pumps all the time?
Good question. It wouldn't start and the tech looked at the IPR valve found trash on it and replaced it. It still wouldn't get enough oil pressure and they replaced the HPOP and all went well.
