Guess I'll use distilled but if I loose much coolant it's gonna get diluted. Oh well, I might try the stuff from napa after radiator fix anyway.

Hey Tim, have you tried recrimping a radiator like that before? Any luck doing that? I was thinking of pliers and squeezing but metallurgy can be puzzling and particular methods are important sometimes. Maybe a dolly under the crimp and light taps across the top? If that proves to be the problem, I'll replace the radiator anyway but that might get me by until it's order/shipped and I find time to install it.
I'm at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores Al. That's why I thought we might be closer by. Ever since we owned this camper, my wife feels it's her God given right to spend at least one month in the summer at the beach.

I wanted to meet you because you were the one the helped me the most with my fears after buying my 6.0. My first camper pull with it was towards your neck of the woods and I had your number ready to call if I had problems. That removed a lot of concern and I really appreciated it.

Now I realize the reputation of this engine is 100x exaggerated.

Gulf shores is nice. We've been most places from Destin east to Mexico beach. Gonna try Cape San Blas next time. For us the usuial question is "are we going to the lake or beach?" We are quite a few miles apart though.

I'm happy to hear I was some help. This website done the same thing for me and I've been trying to pay back a little ever since . I did get to help some folks in the next spot over today. They had 2 blowouts on a travel trailer and pulled them off for repairs. Got back and the tire shop had aired em up to 32psi. Shoulda been 65. The little 110v air station (Black and Decker) earned it's keep again.

Anyway, hope you're having a great trip!

I know I feel the same way about this site. Some of the best people on earth are members here.... And that's not hyperbole. I also try to pay it back when I can, and stop to try and assist if I see someone with mechanical problems.

I aired my tt ties up to 45 and had no problem going to Guntersville from ttown. Aired the same tires to 55 and blew one out 3 miles from home. I was lucky I was going only 30 mph when it happened. Went to put the spare on and noticed it had a ply separation. After backing all the way up the interstate on ramp, a 20 mph 3 mile trip back home and a set of tt tires, I was back on the trip 3 hours later. Original tires on a 2010 tt that have not been covered. Too much dry rot I guess.

Mine did the same. A leak somewhere on the bottom of the tank resulted in all the coolant on the driveway one morning.

Removal / Installation of the radiator is not a bad job at all. Very easy for you Rusty based on what I believe you are capable of based upon getting to know you on this forum.

I think this is the one I bought ... All-Aluminum Radiator Ford Power Stroke Diesel 6.0

I can check later and tell you how many miles and how much time I have on it if you like.

the last radiator I did , I was a little smarter I used a piece of wire threaded it through one of the holes and the other end around the neck where the hose connects went around my shoulder and stood up pulled the unit right up, something installing it, make sure the lower grommets are in place first other wise you'll be underneath pushing up with one hand and installing with the other. we have to see the fish now

Hmm,
I think you have it covered.

Enjoy the trip and worry about it when you get back home. Just
check it every now and then on the way back.

Well, here is a nice video on radiator removal.

Someone removed the video before I got to look at it.

Wow Piolet that Bullet Proof radiator is a bargain! No issues with yours hu? I can't help but wonder if it's a single row design, did you notice when you had yours out? What about the factory radiator, did you see if it was single or double?
I like a bargain but the Mishimoto clearly says double row and some of the others say single. Bullet Proof didn't specify (I did send them an email). I don't want to back up on cooling capacity to save money.

Thanks for the video link and tips guys!

You can get the same radiator bullet proof sells here for less money. https://www.performanceradiator.com/
BPD states they do not make the rad.

Mishimoto has run some deals on ebay too.

If I had to replace mine today I would go back with Ford, it has performed well for over 10 years and 170,000 miles.

Not too big of a deal I guess Benny but this stuff does seem to have a way of popping up at just to the wrong time.
On a lighter note.. Here's a pic of one of the more nerve wracking, white knuckle tows I've done lately.

Haulin the dooky wagon to the dump station . Incredible potential for disaster!

Well seems as if you're still having a good time! I'd be a nervous wreck.
