SYNC Frustrations....and Knowledge
So I just upgraded my phone about a month ago from a flip phone that I used for years to a sweet Nokia Lumia 925 windows smart phone. I have had the iPhone but that was when they first came out etc. Well I have been finding out all this cool stuff that I can do with my phone and my truck. Well one of those great things is streaming music through bluetooth. Well maybe about a week ago, my phone just froze up and lone and behold, I couldn't play music through bluetooth anymore. I still had the phone function and it worked perfect, but I couldn't play music through the truck. The phone would say that it's playing, but no sound would come out of the speakers and the radio said that there was no bluetooth audio device found. Again, the SYNC for my actual PHONE works, but the playing music part just won't work. Numerous calls to the dealer and SyncMyRide.com and nobody knew what was wrong and told me to take it to the dealer. Well my local dealer is booked out almost 2 weeks at this point for any sort of appointments. So after scouring the inter web for HOURS trying to find any sort of fix swearing to myself the whole time
, I saw a thread about removing the SYNC fuse from the fusebox located near the passenger side kickspace(under the glovebox). I also learned something new here, Ford included a fuse puller on the inside of the plastic part that pulls off to reveal the actual fuses. So I pull the fuse(#29 in case anybody is wondering, it's in the owners manual, approx pg 285) and wait a couple of minutes. I put the fuse back in and all of a sudden my AUDIO CAN PLAY and I can once again JAM!

So for anybody out there that is having any sort of SYNC problem, I highly recommend to pull the fuse(#29), wait a minute or two and plug it in and see if that resolved your issue. Ford Support couldn't help me with anything more then I need to take it to the dealer. This was very frustrating as the radio stations in my area are subpar at best. Pictures will be uploaded tomorrow of said fuse box and location for those who don't know where I'm talking about.

That's a great post, thank you. The whole sync experience drives me crazy. The GPS is way hard to figure out. I have that and an RV GPS and an $80 Tom Tom. The tomtom is by far the most accurate and user friendly. I wish I had a recording to post of me trying to use the voice feature. It is probably funny as heck, but not to me. Thanks again.

So far the only quirky thing SYNC does in my truck is it doesn't start the music on the ipod, I have to go in and press PLAY.
On an unrelated note, I'll share a hopefully helpful tip regarding an issue I had with my SYNC. If you ever try to call someone on your contacts list, using the voice prompts, and get the "Calling Dot", or "Call Dot on cell, at home, at work, (etc)? It's because you've got either emoji's or punctuation hiding in your contacts on your phone, and it's throwing SYNC a curveball.
I fought that for months before finally discovering the problem. I went through every one of my contacts removing any punctuation or smileys, then re-synced it and voila! All contacts were voice dial-able again!
HTH,
I actually like the Navigation on my F250 more than other aftermarkets ive had. Even my samsungs phone nav. Tried it recently and the partial window detailing the upcoming next turn is pretty nice i think.
Reset phone
I have had the same issues the phone stops play while driving. Drop phone in sync and then add it, and it works. BUT why in the middle of driving. I replace the factory stereo and it works better with the Kenwood then Sync.
Yes I did probably 50 times. Everytime I un-paired and re-paired and each time the phone would work, but not my music. I even did the "master-reset" on the actual radio in the menu, which still didn't allow the bluetooth audio part to work. I did a master reset on my phone, didn't work. It wasn't until the Fuse was pulled and put back in that it worked. This is definitely not a quick and "simple" fix. The guys at Syncmyride had no clue to even pull the fuse when I called them today to let them know I fixed it. They said they would start incorporating it into one of the "normal" things to do to try and fix it.
