I was trying to separate the transfer case and transmission and mistakenly started at the tranny adapter front side and not the transfer case side. This caused the output shaft to come back enough for the 14 main shaft pilot bearings to fall out.
Knowing the transmission is good, can I just remove the front main drive gear pack the bearings back in the tail end where the main shaft inserts, and put it back together that way? There are a lot less parts to remove that way but I am not sure if it is that easy.
