My wife's 2011 escape has the Michelin latitude tour 235/70r16 tires ( original equipment) , the tread is still very good. The bad news is she has picked up nails in almost all of them . we have had plugs put in 3 of her tires . My delima is now she feels unsafe with the plugs, and wants new tires . So should I stay with the Michelins or try to find something cheaper.
I ve been running COOPERS on all my cars lately. Nothing but good I think. My Escape has Mastercraft Courser A/T2 which are made by Cooper there loud tires. But wore execellant.
The Michelins are very good. I ended up with Firestone Destination LE tires last year and the wife and I are both very pleased with them.
If the tires were professionally repaired with the patch and plug from the inside, your wife's fears are unfounded. That repair technique, if done properly, is pretty much failure-free and completely reliable. See http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=77 for information.
