I have the CaryT V/ modded B 33" kit installed, and re-torqued after 200 miles. But since the install the EX pulls to the left and I have a clunking in the front end. The alignment shop said they have my alignment "dead nuts", and it must be my tires. Well I replaced my tires and wheels and I still have the pulling problem.
The clunking I believe is coming from the adjustable track bar, the torque wrench only goes to 250 ft/lbs so went to 250 and then tightened a little more. I have no way to measure the 396 ft/lbs in the specs.
No one has any help on why the EX is pulling? As far as the clunking and not being able to correctly torque the nuts/bolts, any input on how to get "close" to the right torque with out a torque wrench? No one has, or had, these problems?
I am leaving for camping in 4 days and need to get these addressed.
Have not had these problems...but watching for a solution to put in the back of my head for when I do this upgrade.
Have you contacted Cary yet? I'm sure he'd have some insight.
As far as the torque wrench goes...my 1/2" only goes to 300lb-ft and one that goes to 400lb-ft costs over $400. Maybe try a local tool-rental shop or see if you can bribe a dealer tech or your alignment tech to check the torque? They should have a wrench that will reach that range.
I recently started hearing a thump when the front axle had lateral (left-to-right) force applied. While at a body shop for a different reason, the mechanic there looked at it and thought the spring bushing might be going out, allowing the spring to move that tiny bit left-to-right and the sound was the spring sliding and hitting. The mechanic seems to think a simple replacement of the bushings will cure the thump.
most "clunks" on the Ex that I've experienced are from sway bar links/bushings, but that would not cause pulling. I guess the normal progression would be make a list of all you did, and re-tighten. Mark each bolt with red paint so you can verify visually. Keep in mind to tighten reused the parts, such as brake components. Since it's pulling I'd consider that a symptom of your overall problem... so If it were me, that's where I would begin.
If you swap tires does the pulling change?
Does it pull more when you brake? or less? or just a steady constant pull?
Does the noise come from a bump in the road or turning?
Is one hub locked?
Have you gone over this with Cary? I have his entire suspension on my Ex and he has spent way more time with me on the phone than I ever expected him to do without charging me. My clunking was the sway bar links like stated above. They were only 6 months old but made the clunking noise none the less. I just wish I would have done his suspensions 6 years ago when I bought the Ex. I also wish I would have done the dual shocks/steering stabilizers like he recommended but thats for another tax return.

No, I have not contacted him yet, I was hoping he would chime in here to this thread so his help would be visible to everyone. Also, I have an odd schedule and when I get time it is usually late or weekends, I will be contactiong him shortly.

The clunking is mostly when I turn right, and then when I hit bumps right after turning right.

If you swap tires does the pulling change? I have brand new tires and wheels and there was no change between them and the stock wheels and tires.

Is one hub locked? No, brand new hubs, actually installed after the V/B mod and before the 200 mile re-torque.
It is not from the sway bar bushungs, end links or bushings. They are all new within 3 weeks of V/B mod.
Its the tract bar bolts not tight enough. Get a 1/2" breaker bar and a piece of four foot pipe on the end of it. Then go to town! Ive done it this way to my f350 my dads f350 and three of my friends f250 super duties not one has ever had a clunk or any other problem
Update;
Took a 4ft bar to the track bar bolts and tightened them as tight as we could and the noise is gone.
As far as the pulling, it is greatly reduced after the REDHEAD gear box install, but it is still present. Ball joints are good, and so is the rest of the front end, so time to fine tune the alignment.

This is totally a guess, but I'm wondering if the track bar is mis-adjusted. This could potentially pull the front axle to one side and cause rear end to 'dog track'. The alignment shop should do a 4 wheel alignment. Maybe you need another alignment shop(?).
