I put a 400 in my 79 Bronco. I replaced the fuel tank, the filter under the truck, new fuel pump. I put a clear glass filter in the line just before the carb. But if the truck sits for a few days the gas goes back down the lines and it takes a while of cranking to get it back to the clear filter and into the carb for it to start. What could be causing this to happen??
I've noticed a rattle noise in the front of the motor. Sounds like it is coming from the drivers side. Maybe the new fuel pump isn't any good. But it pumps. Just seems like it has to crank a long time to get the fuel up.
Think I will just put an electric pump on it and forget about it. Cover the fuel pump hole with a plate. I think 10 to 14 psi is about what I need. Am I right?
