Haven't looked, but upon reflection, it required too much pressing into place. The old pad had swollen and warped enough that the edges where the RTV was weren't making good contact. I trimmed the spots where the edges of the cracks turned up, but if think the front edge - closest to the windshield - is my problem. Going to shave it down and see if that makes the fit easier.

I'd use spray on 3m trim glue or other spray on, coat each side wait about 10 minutes then attach cover piece.

2x per what Jeff says..

Yeah, I cleaned it well, that wasn't the issue.

Might have gone too light on the RTV. Spray may be the way to go, especially for the front edge - closest to the driver. Thanks for that recommendation.

Regardless of the adhesive, I need to trim somewhere, as the holes for the defrost vents aren't lying flat. I have to press them down. And I am fairly confident the problem is the pad's back edge - closest to the windshield. It's keeping the cover from going all the way back and down.
