bed support rail rotting

2005 f350 short bed front bed support rotting does anybody have recall or any information on this issue 9 years old this should not be happening

They all do it, pull the bed off cut out rotted support and weld in a new one

Get tubing from a local steel supplier

Yep, my 07' has it with 214,000 miles.
Ticks me off because my old 92' did it
and I am **** about hosing those brackets
of in the winter time after seeing it on my 92.

if its surfase rust you can spray rust converter on it...

a guy on ebay sells replacement cross beams...

PIA to replace....you need to lift your bed and when that happens you find more work to do.

The one on my dads 03' is starting to cave so me and him will be replacing all of them along with the fuel pump while the bed is off. Only reason they lasted this long is because they were scraped, rust converter and painted. I am going to get some 12ga 304 stainless bent up to replace the old ones. Luckliy I have a tow motor so taking the bed off will be easy.

My 04' is probably going to need bed supports in a few years too. It is a crappy design sandwiching steel like that. Ford could do much better, but they won't.
