Speaking of destroying tunnels, have you ever tried one of those propane cannons?

Lol! I get the reference.

Don't know anything about propane cannons. Did I mention the mole was a suspect in a robbery at Quick Trip that had happened just minutes before he was killed? The mole was not as innocent as his mole friends would have you believe..

But I digress.....

But, you didn't know that when you shot him.

... Ah
So you're one of those Judge, Jury and Executioner types, eh?

Go ahead, violate that moles constitutional rights to a fair trial.

He was dealt with based on his actions at the time. It just turned out that he wasn't the angel he was depicted as. The 'witness' was also his accomplice in the robbery. The moles mother said her baby was an angle, but most parents have no idea what their kids are really like.

Bottom line; mole messes with me, mole gets what he deserves

Back on topic...

headed to the shop to do some cleaning up. Still trying to decide on the engine test stand; wood, steel or a combination. I tend to over-think things; probably why it takes me forever on some projects.

But first - a nap...

Doesn't seem like over-thinking to me, but what do I know.

I tend to like metal instead of wood. And you have the TIG, so what better chance to use it?

Well, I'm still learning on the TIG and don't want the stand to fall apart on me..

That said, I think a run to the Yard Store (it's a Wichita thing) is in my future. Some square tubing and plate..

I spent yesterday cleaning up the shop and doing some re-organizing. I had to make room for the new welder. I got some wall mounted bins and also organized all my nuts, bolts, screws, nails, etc.

If I survive mowing the lawn this afternoon in the heat, I'll try to get back out to the shop and make some more progress; maybe get some TIG practice in..

Man, I'm with you on the lawn mowing. I did that yesterday evening and was totally worn out when done. And it isn't even really HOT!.

Yard Store - been there many times. In fact, I used to flag the rail crossing in front of it during the summer of '65.

On the welding, use gussets and lapped joints. It will never fall apart.

Went to the Yard Store this afternoon. Picked up 36 feet of 2" Square tubing, 1/8 wall. Probably overkill, but I tend to over-engineer things.

I don't have the total design figured out yet, but I'll start with the base and go from there.

36'?
Don't they have 20' sticks like everyone else?

Sounds like a great start.
You should definitely use your TIG for this job.

You are getting the "used" stuff? Not truly having been used but having been sold before?

Commercial scrap is usually over ordered or drops.
There's nothing wrong with "new" used steel.

Agreed. My engine stand, shop crane, and rotisserie are all built from it.
