My truck has been to 4 ford dealerships and one private shop. I am looking for another private shop that does Ford trucks. After 6 weeks of no truck it is running today but still has a wiring issue. 3 days ago I fired it up and let it run until I saw a loose alternator wire that I forgot to tighten down so I shut it off to fix. When I turned the key on the glow plug relay blew. I thought it was a fuse. So after not finding that,, I had it towed to ford dealer to be fixed. What they found was broken IPR wire. What? OK, why did my GPR blow. I rebuilt 5 pigtails on the wiring harness of the engine bay. I did them one wire at a time. This truck has had a short since day 1 but I didn't know when I bought it. It runs now but misses like on number 1 cyclinder. The guy at the dealer said it sure is hard to start! Ya think!!!! Wonder why? I can do as well a dealer mechanic and I'm not that good. I told them it had a short somewhere and I still suspect its the alarm system (on arrival). Wiring is hard to track down I know. When I got the truck it was not missing bad, by the time I got it home though it likes 3 piston being a full deck. Every time it down shifts on a hill and kicks back up it starts missing. I'm an hour south of St. Louis, anyone know a good shop close to me?????
