My buddy was driving home lastnight and his truck just shuts off as if he just turned the key off, he thought it had something to do with his remote starter. He went over everything and come to find out it was fuse #22 engine control now the problem is why did that happen? any advice would be appreciated! also truck does this intermittantly. Needs to be fixed.

 

I had a fuse blowing (PCM fuse) a few months back, truck just shut off while driving. The problem was traced to a chaffed wire inside the wiring harness on the engine. Repaired the wire and have had no issues since. Good Luck

 

Thank you for the quick response. My buddy did find the same problem you describe. Dealer changed the glow plug module and they didn't put the wire loom on good and one wire was sticking out of it and it was shorting out on the valve cover. He ripped the whole truck apart and reloomed/electrical tapped every wiring harness in the engine bay and truck has been running like a champ since. Thanks again.
