i have a 2009 f250. i am trying to change the wiring that goes from the back of 7pin plug under the truck, i cant seem to find a oem part number or just a aftermarket replacement that says it is for my year truck anywhere. so if anyone has the part number or a site i can find that part i would appreciate that. couldnt find one for my year on etrailer.com . i talked to a mechanic and he told me that since my truck has the oem one on it already that i should stick with oem part and go to junk yards to try to find one or try to get one from Ford itself because for some reason wiring in a aftermarket one will cxause problems some how. i dont know how true that is or isnt. also when the wire goes into the frame and i cant find any videos on replacing it so im just not sure if that wire goes all the way to the front of the truck or if it plugs into another wire somewhere in the middle of the truck so any tips on where the end of that wire is would be great too. thanks in advance

My 2006 F350 has both the oem 7 and 4 pin plugs. Last year I had a problem with it shorting out due to rust and was going to replace it (ended up just cutting the plug off snd capping the wires since I don’t tow with it). But when I looked at the wiring diagrams, I seem to recall that the plugs themselves just plugged into the truck wiring close to the drivers side rear wheel.
There is a wiring harness that goes from the driver side front tire to the back for the Rear Lamp assembly... I just had to replace part of it on my truck (2011). Is this the same wiring harness you are referring to? PN: BC3Z-14405-MA
