Hello, I went and started up my '77 F-150 (300 I6) the other day after it sitting for almost two weeks, and she started up fine. The engine was running smooth for a few minutes and then it started to make a slight "wobbling" sound.
I've had this truck for more than a year and it has always run super smooth. But the other day it started this slight wobble sound and I'm not sure if this could be signs of a misfire.
I just had the spark plugs all replaced maybe 5 or 6 months ago, so I'm doubtful whether it could be a misfire but I guess it is possible. Any advice on how I should diagnose this?
I have a similar problem on my 79 F100 300 I6. Its my everyday driver and been running great for almost a year now. But now and then I would in counter same sort of misfire while driving. Sometimes its only for a few seconds then it comes right again. I also found once or twice were it did not go away, I pulled over, switched off the engine. Switch it on again and its gone.
I think it might be carb, fuel related. As I replaced the fuel filter and it seems to have decreased the problem. But I still sometimes feel a slight misfire while driving. So i am in the process of taking the carb off for rebuild.
But would also like to get to the cause of it and get it fixed.
