Vacuum Pump Questions

Besides the 4x4 hubs and HVAC controls what else does the vacuum pump (on passenger side fender) supply to? Does the engine provide any vacuum for anything or is it all from the electric pump?

Diesels don't provide vacuum. There is no throttle plate, so the manifold is at atmospheric pressure at the very least. Also, remember the manifold is usually pressurized because of the turbo.

I thought the manual HVAC was all adjusted by vacuum, mainly the blend door that directs the air between the floor, defrost, and dashboard vents.
