Bought a 92 f150 with 115k original miles. I like it so much I want to keep it for once. The parking brake is very weak and its a 5spd so it's pretty important. I am familiar with automotive systems and work with them every day but avoid drum brake work at all costs normally. The drums had the installation clips on so I assume they are untouched. They are glazed pretty good but the shoes have a ton of meat left. Is there a simple adjustment or should I put new drums on and see if its a bit tighter?
Alright. I searched more on adjustment and see where it is fairly common but many are replacing the cables too I guess it may be stretched, haven't even inspected those. Will report back

The cables could stretch but in most cases they become frozen (rusted) where they dip down coming out of the backing plate.
This is why people replace them.
If you have the drums off you can watch as someone else applies the parking brake.
Observe the equalizer bar on the drivers side frame rail too.
