Escape Parking brake

Escape Parking brake
I changed the rear drum brakes on my wife's '02 escape a few weeks ago. Since then, the parking brake feels "slack" when you set it. I checked underneath, and there doesn't seem to be any way to adjust the tension in the cable. Am I supposed to just replace the cable along with the brakes, or am I missing something here?

The parking brake is adjusted inside the Escape. You'll need a deep socket (10mm?), an extension and a ratchet. Pull the emergency brake up then seperate the two rubber flanges underneath the parking brake with your hand. You'll see a bolt that needs adjusting. The parking brake should only click 3-5 times when set properly.
