1982 brake question?

Hey guys, I've got a question.
I have a 1982 xlt f100 351 cleveland,c6,9 inch right hand drive, as I'm from Australia.
I've been reading this forum and loving all the tips and conversation on our trucks.
My question is, I'm looking at the twin piston calipers on the 250s,350s, and later model trucks.
So can I bolt up to mine if I swap stub assembly ?
Has any body done it ?
Is it worth it?
Are stub assembly's compatible ?
Thanks in advance.
Ralf....

Won't fit. Everything is larger on the f250/350 spindles. There are lots of people with f150's and broncos who would like to change their spindles to 8 lug with a simple swap, but it's not possible.

Balljoints are larger.

Wheel bearings are larger.

Nothing will fit up.

Actually, since I have good 5-lug wheels I'd like the heavier brakes but stay with the lighter duty/weight wheels. Guess not.

So, what about going from the early style caliper to the later, but still 150, caliper? The early ones, at least through 82 if not later, had the dovetail slides that frequently didn't. But the later ones appear to be better at positioning themselves, which cuts drag and improves MPG as well as brake life.

Thanks for the replies, I'm just thinking out loud and looking for some answers to better braking.
I've replaced all the rear brake parts with all new equipment, brake booster, master cylinder, lines......

Should be able to swap to the later f150 spindle where the earlier one was. They also changed the way the wheel bearings are held in place. They got rid of the double spanner nut thing, and went to a complicated looking nut that "clicks" and locks the bearings in place behind the hub.

Thanks. I'll check the parts catalog to see when the change happened and how long it ran.
