Brakes won't stop squealing

The brakes on my 79 F250 will not stop squealing. I have replaces the pads and shoes, didn't help. Brakes are great on the truck. Great response from the pedal and good braking. But every time I come up to an intersection they squeal really loud. Gets lots of unwanted attention!! LOL! Any ideas?

You may need new drums/rotors, or need them turned.
If you put new rotors on and brake hard right at first, you can "glaze" them and they will squeal.
Or if you replace only the pads/shoes, the high spots on the drum/caliper, can squealing.

I will look into new rotors. It is pretty annoying!! My old pads didn't look that old but the guy at the parts store talked me into putting new ones on anyhow which wasn't a big deal. But it didn't help. I am about 95% sure it is coming from the front but I trying to pin down the squeal from the cab. I hate how you can be 100% sure a sound is coming from the back and it is actually the front or vice versa!

Sometimes a light touch with a sander on the rotors will break the glaze and help reduce squeak. That and some anti-squeal grease on the back of the pads may be worth a try before buying the rotors.

For the sanding, a DA with 80 grit works well. The pattern should be non directional.
