Automatic trans CAM

How serious can you get into a cam and still hook up to a factory C 6. I'd like some car show "wow" but I want to leave it in gear at the redlight. Any life & duration numbers or cam brand & model anyone wants to share?

The c-6 is pretty tough.... It can handle quite a bit stock, and can be beefed up pretty cheap.

I took that question as meaning "how much cam cam can I get before the stock torque converter stall speed gets in the way"...

I don't know

Something mild. I have a 292/292 .554/.554" cam on a 435NP (4 speed) manual. I can't imagine it idling cold with an automatic in drive ...

The stock torque convertor stalls pretty quick on a factory C-6. I think mine's around 1500rpm or so. Something like a Crane Cams 343901 or a 343941 would probably be best. I'm using a 343941 in the 390 I'm building, and I think I'll probably spend the money on a 2000 rpm stall torque convertor for it. The 343901 would probably be the way to go for a stock convertor.

I would say stick with a cam under 220 actual duration @ .050 lift for a stock converter.The biggest thing is always try to pick the cam with the highest lift at your duration tageted.Anotherwards is look/find the highest lift you can find with a 220 duration @ .050 (give or take a few) I mean really, thats why you pay the big money for a roller cam.Rollers have a quick ramp up to max lift with the shortest duration.
