Thought that I would give a quick update. At first I thought the power wasn't noticeably improved however after running in the 87 tow all summer I set the truck back to stock for winter. The truck totaly feels like a dog now. I want to put the tuner back in but the shift strategies just don't work with our icy road conditions. All I mean by that is the shifts happen at certain speeds that I just can't reach with the conditions so the truck always feels like it should be in 1 higher gear. I want to try econo mode to see if drive by wire improves but keeps stock shifting but its to cold to bother right now.

I got a 5 Star Tuner for a xmas gift "Thanks Wifey" and I can say it made a huge difference in the way my truck runs. Of course the first thing I loaded was 87 perf to see what this thing will do. Took the wife for a ride and put her back in her seat LOL . Emailed Mike on xmas day cause I wasn't sure if I had the right strategy and he got back to me that night. Thanks Mike and Jacob! Now I have the 87 daily/tow in there and still have much better throttle response although I think I might have lost some MPG who cares runs so much better, I didn't by a big heavy truck for great fuel mileage. Can't wait to try and tow with it this summer and see what that will do. One question though when you want to change tunes do you have to put the stock one back in it and then download the one that you want?

I am fairly sure you can just load the tune you want without returning to stock first.

Has any one had their warranty voided because of a tuner?

A few forum members have returned the truck to stock for some minor warranty issues with no problems.

I just installed my x4 this afternoon during my lunch break at work, i installed the 87 perf/tow tune and only had time to drive my 2014 5.0 around the block a few times...OMG... The BEAST is now unleashed, it's much more responsive and cat like, ready to leap out and go somewhere...I enjoyed the 5 min. i had with it, the shifts were calm but strong, no bang at all as i have read from others...Much more power on demand...Can't wait to get off work and test it some more...I have 22' camper trailor i will be connecting it to this weekend...Update coming soon.

Despite what some may claim, I have no doubt Ford can find out you have been fooling with the software, even if you put it back to stock.

I feel 100% that you are correct in your assumption. It would show up somewhere in the operating history as an abnormality of standard protocol of the software.

It may not scream out right "Tuner has been Installed", but will leave just enough tale, tale signs that if the service dept wanted to deny an expensive claim reason could be found I feel sure.

That being said and given the dependability service history of the 6.2 motor. I would be very tempted to try a tuner if I had the 6.2 and was on the cusp of the tow abilities of the beast. I do understand that the tuner would not increase the tow limits one little ounce, but many times the shift pattern of the transmission can product that little extra grunt to get you going and over the top of a hill. Of course this could also be accomplished with the manual tow haul shift button and my finger to.
