I want to install air horns on my 2000 X. I can't for the life of me find the origal horns. I can feel and hear them near the front passenger side, near the head light. I removed the battery and washer reservoir. Nothing
Anyone know where it is located.
Thanks in advance for any help
You are in the right area. My stock horn was between the fender and the firewall, under the battery. I had to remove the wheel shrouding from the tire side, to get to mine.
Thanks for the responce. I was looking at the shrouding and I said to myself i bet I will have to take that off. It was 96 degrees out and I said I'm not going there now. Thanks for your help.
hey. I work for the railroad and am in the process of aquiring a set of freight train horns for my x. will sit down inside my roof rack to hide them a bit.
offroadjunkiex, keep in mind that train horns are illegal to use on public roads in all 50 states, as they are too loud at their design pressure. If you do use them, be sure to keep your air supply below about 75 psi. BTW, which one did you get?
yea i know about the laws i would only use them out in the middle of no where messing around. they will be hidden in the roof rack. I am putting a 7 in lift with 37s so they wont be easy to see. I think he has k5la for me. Have not got it yet.
Rickerson truck supply sells the entire kit to install a airhorn on your rig, and i believe they sell train horns as well. I put a 3 foot International horn on my X , and hit it with 120psi, sure gets peoples attention
