Sway elimination in what order?
#76
Well as the OP I have to say that was more than I bargained for. .
I really do appreciate the input though and think that I will proceed with:
Tighten steering box
Check condition of all front end parts and replace as necessary
Add sway Bar
Replace shocks
My tires are in good shape and I do use a good WD hitch with sway control when I tow so I'm thinking this will put in me in good shape to tow. If not I will upgrade the springs.
Wonder what I can stir up with my next post....

I tow heavy 10K +... and will say the single best "change" was puttin' on 20" tires Michelin 275x65R-20
Keep in mind, many of the changes, by Excursion owners, are installed simultaneously (including myself) so it's difficult to evaluate the changes as stand alone modifications ... therefore it's anecdotal at best. Even though I've done quite a bit to the suspension I'd rate the benefits of my changes as follows;
20" load range E Tires
sway bar
dual front shocks and rear shocks (done at the same time)
higher rate springs
dual steering stabilizers
My Assumption is ... everthing meets OEM specs, balljoints, steering components etc. I have found the tracking improves (less wander) when towing (suspension loading, even when/with stock size tires and suspension. I keep my tires in the 60 psi range and higher when towing.

Guys, I had to go out of town to take my wife up to a hospital an hour and a half away for knee surgery. Because of that, I've been offline since Wednesday morning.
I learned about this thread and asked an administrator to step in and lock it until I could clean it up.
I got back online tonight, caught up on all the posts and all I can say is, there aint no way to clean this thread up because it's too screwed up.
So, because it's hopeless, it stays locked.
